Privacy Policy

This page explains what information TheOmenBook collects when you use the site, why, and what choices you have about it. We've tried to write it in plain language rather than dense legal boilerplate, because a privacy policy nobody can understand isn't actually informing anyone.

What we collect

• Newsletter signups: if you subscribe, we store your email address with our email service provider (Brevo) so we can send the weekly omen email and manage unsubscribes.
• Purchases and donations: if you buy the companion guide or make a donation, payment is processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details — Stripe handles that directly.
• Analytics: we use privacy-respecting analytics (page views, general location at a country/region level, device type) to understand which pages are useful and which aren't. This data is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally.
• Contact form submissions: if you write to us, we store your message and the email address you provide so we can reply.

What we don't do

We don't require an account to read the site, we don't sell your personal data to third parties, and we don't run tracking that follows you across other websites to build an advertising profile.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies for basic site function and analytics. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time; doing so may affect some site features (like remembering your Luck Meter result) but won't prevent you from reading any page.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in every email we send. You can request a copy of the data we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by using the contact page — we'll respond promptly.

Third-party services we use

• Vercel — hosting
• Brevo — email newsletter delivery
• Stripe — payment processing for the companion guide and donations
• A standard web analytics provider — aggregate usage statistics

How long we keep data

Newsletter addresses are kept for as long as you remain subscribed and are removed on unsubscribe or on request. Contact-form messages are kept long enough to resolve your question and for a reasonable period afterward in case of follow-up, then deleted. We don't keep payment details at all — Stripe handles and stores those directly under its own privacy practices.

Children's privacy

TheOmenBook is a general-audience reference site and is not directed at children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children, and the newsletter and checkout flows require an email address, which limits meaningful use by young children in practice.

Where your data is processed

Our service providers (Vercel, Brevo, Stripe, and our analytics provider) may process data in different countries than the one you're browsing from, consistent with how those services operate globally. Each provider maintains its own security and compliance practices, which you can review on their respective sites; we choose providers with established, reputable privacy practices rather than the cheapest available option.

Security

We rely on our providers' security infrastructure (HTTPS encryption in transit, access-controlled dashboards) rather than storing sensitive data ourselves. No online system is perfectly secure, but we don't collect more than we need, and we don't hold payment details at all.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after a change means you've accepted the updated policy.
